Mountain biking can be tough in the winter months, so sometimes you just have pack and up head south to chase some singletrack! After last summers Crested Butte adventures, Teton Gravity Research headed to the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas to test the next fresh crop of mountain bikes with an all-star crew. We made America's newest mountain bike town, Bentonville, Arkansas, our homebase to explore the hundreds of miles of singletrack right out the front door. It may have been January, but our six testers rode 17 different trail and enduro bikes of all shapes and sizes, making the most of the often frigid conditions and encountering some of the most fun trails they have ever ridden, making this a winter break for the ages.
Bentonville is a surprising hotbed for mountain activity, with trails covering just about every bit of usable land in the area, complete with rowdy jump lines, north-shore style freeride terrain, and endless singletrack for those looking to pedal all day. A good dose of southern hospitality mixed in with tacky dirt and fresh bikes made for one hell of a week! Check out our take on 17 of the best mountain bikes on offer for this upcoming year, and dive deeper into what could well become the next mountain bike capital of the U.S.
