Online Submissions

The entire submission process may be completed online. This process is much quicker and doesn’t require you to put anything in the mail. Welcome to the 21st century! Submissions start here:https://www.coldsmokeco.com/awards/film-submissions-2015/

New for 2014/15

Coldsmoke will be accepting entries under a new “Web Series” category. Winter filmmaking has seen a lot of growth in this format, and Coldsmoke is stoked to embrace it. In years past filmmakers have entered web episodes as “short films” making these entries eligible for consideration in all Coldsmoke Awards categories. Filmmakers are welcome to continue to enter their best episodes as shorts this year, however entering as a “Web Series” will require a separate submission process, and will open up even more opportunities to win Awards and get exposure.

Coldsmoke Winter Film Tour

The Winter Film Tour is the traveling extension of Coldsmoke. Selected films have the opportunity to be included in the tour, gaining even more exposure at these live events. In the spirit of the winter culture, Winter Film Tour stops are much more relaxed than traditional film festivals. Patrons are immersed in the newest and hottest in winter film, while kicking back and celebrating the winter season with friends, industry professionals, live music and libations.

Coldsmoke People’s Choice online contest

The Coldsmoke People’s Choice is an online venue for filmmakers to attract the attention of the masses. Designed to give a film as much exposure online as possible, the winner of the popular vote takes home a cash prize (the film Vaya a la Cumbre won $5000 with the People’s Choice Award in 2014). Friendly competition is certainly encouraged, as Coldsmoke and its partners actively promote this contest incentivising viewer participation with gear and trip giveaways. Filmmaker’s have the option to enter this contest or just enter into the Coldsmoke Awards. The People’s Choice contest will be active for 8 weeks, starting Nov 1st 2014, and ending Jan 1st 2015. The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be presented live at the Coldsmoke Awards on Jan 10th in Bozeman.
