Next Up

French madman and renowned freeride snowboarder Xavier De Le Rue releases the second episode of his DIY Tour, a RedBull web series that follows De Le Rue as he travels across Europe in a camper van in search of the best snow. Leaving behind the film crew and helicopters, De Le Rue films his powder pursuit using his very own HEXO+ drone.

Due to the fact that Europe had a pretty slow start in terms of conditions this year, episode one featured De Le Rue skiing Val Thorens with very minimal coverage. Things get a little gnarlier in episode two when De Le Rue decides to shred the Mallory Couloir in Chamonix.

Situated on the north face of Aiguille du Midi, the Mallory averages a steepness of 50-55º. Be prepared for some serious stomach flippage as you watch De Le Rue descend one of the most arduous pitches in the French Alps.
