evo expands its evoTrip travel destinations with a Chilean mountain biking trip this December.

Seattle, WA (Oct 8, 2015) – After successfully launching into the mountain bike category in May, Seattle-based action sports and outdoor retailer evo will grow its outdoor adventure travel business with the addition of a destination mountain bike trip to Chile in December 2015, under its evoTrip adventure travel program. Combining the same blend of sport and culture embodied by evoTrip’s ski and snowboard offerings, the Las Trancas, Chile evoTrip immerses a limited number of guests with mountain bike pros, local community, daily adventure, and a stunning cultural and activity setting.

“This Chile mountain bike trip and evoTrip as a whole embodies so much of what evo is all about,” says Bryce Phillips, founder and CEO of evo. “evoTrip brings together great people from around the world that share a deep passion for riding, immerses them in a new culture, and deepens our connection with our customers to create a truly extraordinary experience. Capping it off with Transition Bikes owners Kyle Young and Kevin Menard makes this an even more exciting opportunity to launch our first mountain bike trip.”

Want to stamp your passport to incredible mountain biking in the Andes? Guests will travel with the founders of evo and Transition Bikes as they explore the tallest mountains in the Southern Hemisphere. Guests will ride a mix of downhill and enduro trails in the remote and beautiful Valle Las Trancas in the Bio Bio region, one of the epicenters of Chilean mountain biking. The group will ride the park at Nevados de Chillan, home of the first race of the 2014 Enduro World Series, as well as discover active volcanoes, natural hot springs and waterfalls on guided rides through the trail systems of Reserva Rocanegra Ecologica. Evenings will feature sunsets, BBQs, and lounging at the beautiful Rocanegra Mountain Lodge and Spa. Guests will also have an opportunity to visit the coast of Cobquecura and surf the Buchupuero break prior to heading into Santiago to get a taste of Chilean culture and nightlife before the trip ends.

About Transition Bikes:
Transition Bikes is the story of Pacific Northwest shredders quitting their jobs and building bikes, but never forgetting why they got into the business in the first place - riding. Kevin and Kyle quit their jobs at a telecommunications company in 2001, founded Transition, and began selling bikes in 2003. Their rider owned vision of not taking things too seriously, combined with innovative designs like the BottleRocket have, no pun intended, propelled Transition into the spotlight of mountain bike manufacturing. Transition bikes are versatile, crafted with attention to detail, and above all, designed for you to have a ton of fun. Transition's PNW roots (Bellingham, Washington to be exact) along with their passion and dedication to riding make them a perfect fit at evo. Shred on!
