KILLINGTON, VT – Killington Bike Park opens this Friday, June 26, for the summer of 2015 and returns to the MTBparks Pass program with a free lift ticket. This Beast of the East will begin loading bikes on the K-1 Express Gondola Friday at noon, giving riders access to 1,700-feet of Vermont vert.
The Kona “Groove Approved” Killington Mountain Bike Park offers the ultimate summer lift-served mountain biking experience serving up everything from classic cross-country singletrack to challenging big-bike downhill and freeriding trails. Killington Resort is home to 45 miles of trails and a 1,700-foot vertical drop spread across five mountain areas, all served by the K-1 Express Gondola.
Killington offers gravity and trail riding for all ability levels and is home to some of the coolest natural and manmade features in the region. The trails tends to cater more to riders looking for an all-mountain riding experience. But if you grab a guide or can catch some runs in with a local ripper, you can connect some great gravity lines as well.
With three new beginner trails being added last season, plus the resort's new Learn To Ride program, Killington is a great option for beginners who want to check out lift-access downhill mountain biking.
Experts will find an endless supply of technical and buffed out terrain coming off of the 4200-foot peak, accessible from the resort's eight passenger gondola.
What's New at Killington Bike Park
Killington began construction on new jump trails and added many features along its existing terrain. The resort also added summer guest access to the new Umbrella Bars near the Superstar quad for great drinks and food with a beautiful view.
The park's peak restaurant will be open seven days a week and will be spinning Snowshed lift this summer on the weekends. This will give bikers access to new terrain, including jump trails and super easy beginner trails. Killington is stoked to be offering this added terrain and makes Killington the only resort in the east spinning two lifts for mountain biking.
