TELLURIDE, CO – Mountain Village Bike Park @ Telluride, the first and only ski resort to offer free gondola access to its bike park in the summer, opens Wednesday, June 16, for the summer of 2015.
The gondola is considered "public transportation" between town and Mountain Village on the other side of the ski hill, and allows riders to get off at the top of the bike park where they can ride for free once signing a waiver.
The Mountain Village Bike Park at Telluride offers over 1,000 feet of vertical drop, 30-plus berms and various jumps geared towards intermediate and expert downhill mountain bikers.
Five trails provide several miles of lift-served gravity goodness which makes this a rider’s playground, free for the picking.
It is how you gain access to the bike park that has people talking: the town gondola, making this a one-of-a-kind downhill biking experience. From Station St. Sophia, the Mountain Village Bike Park entrance is situated about 150 yards south. Once there, you can indulge in trails built to International Mountain Bicycling Association guidelines.
