WHISTLER, BC – The Whistler Mountain Bike Park announced today that it will be opening the Garbonzo Zone—the second highest of three zones on the mountain—Saturday, June 13, one week ahead of schedule.
The early opening is due to "Hard work by the Trail Crew and a stretch of warm temperatures," the resort said in a press release.
The announcement continues what seems to be a trend of early openings this season, including Whistler's initial opening two weeks ahead of schedule.
Initial access to the zone will be via the Whistler Village Gondola only, with Una Moss and Whisky Jack being the first accessible trails. The Garbanzo Express chairlift will open as scheduled on Saturday, June 20.
