ALBION, ID – Pomerelle Mountain Resort will reduce the operating schedule for its bike park to four days for 2015, Ken Stanley, a volunteer trail builder, told MTBparks.com. The resort will run its lifts for mountain bike trail access July 18 and 25, and August 1 and 2. According to Stanley, resort management cites the installation of a new chairlift over the summer as diverting resources and says it will reevaluate summer operations for the 2016 season at the end of summer.

"For now, we're planning on business as usual next year," Zack Alexander, Pomerelle's mountain manager told MTBparks.com. "We'll get through this summer and get the new lift in and see how it goes."

The new lift will replace an old double and serve a beginner ski hill, but is in close proximity to the lift serving mountain bikers and means cutting power and having a construction zone most of the summer, Alexander said.

The resort will still host the Pomerelle Pounder, a stop of the Go-Ride Gravity Series, Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, as well as a practice day Friday, July 31, for racers only.

Riders will still be able to access the trails which are on Forest Service land throughout the summer under their own power.

A small, family owned ski resort in Southern Idaho, Pomerelle has opened its chairlift to bikes in the summer for nearly two decades.
