SALT LAKE CITY - July 12, 2012 - The North Face Chilean Freeskiing Championships will return to Ski Arpa Cat Skiing, August 22-26, for the second consecutive year. With a $10,000 prize purse, the open event will attract the top freeskiers from around the globe to compete on a backcountry venue only accessible by snowcat and touring. An hour drive from Los Andes, Chile, the venues at Ski Arpa - located in the shadow of Cerro Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas - are truly world-class.
This competition will be a 4-star event, associated with the Freeride World Tour and a critical opportunity for up and coming athletes to earn points towards their worldwide ranking.
