Tordrillo Range, Alaska – Premier Alaska heli adventure guide service and multi-sport company, Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, is pleased to announce its title ski and snowboard partnership with industry-leading ski manufacturer K2. K2 also signed Olympic gold-medalist and Tordrillo Mountain Lodge co-owner Tommy Moe to a multi-year sponsorship contract that includes K2 skis, poles, helmets, goggles and boots.
An accomplished Olympic medalist and a renowned ski guide, Moe brings great charisma and widespread expertise to the K2 Backside team. Based out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Moe joins the ranks of other world-famous guides and athletes in K2’s stable, including Zach and Reggie Crist, JT Holmes, Martin Volken and Mike Hattrup.
“Tommy’s involvement with Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, paired with his big-mountain aptitude and decorated career, make him an ideal athlete to represent the K2 brand,” said K2 Team Manager, Andrew Thomas. “We are thrilled to welcome Tommy on-board and support his wide range of skiing endeavors, anywhere from Jackson Hole to Alaska.”
Beginning this 2012–2013 season, Tordrillo Mountain Lodge will provide guests with a full offering of K2’s top-of-the-line skis. Equipment varies in size, shape and style, to suit clients’ abilities and meet the demands of all snow conditions, from waist-deep powder to corn.
“With operations at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge now under our own management, we are excited to bring in industry-leader K2 as our title sponsor,” said Tordrillo Mountain Lodge co-owner, Mike Overcast. “We think the new direction of TML and the progressive direction of K2 align nicely. It is important to us to provide our clients with the best of the best in everything we do—so, our equipment offering is no different.”
The K2 skis in Tordrillo Mountain Lodge’s fleet will include the Darkside, Pon2oon, and the Sidestashfor men, while the women’s collection will include the GotBack and TalkBack. Both the K2 Darkside and Pon2oon feature Powder Rocker, which are easy to initiate and feature wide waist-width measurements for unmatched floatation in deep Alaskan powder. The Sidestash, GotBack and TalkBack are built with All-Terrain Rocker and offer versatility for variable snow conditions and terrain. The lodge will also host a K2 snowboard fleet comprised of the Panoramic splitboard and this season’s brand new Peace Keeper, Ultra Dream and High Lite.
“Tordrillo Mountain Lodge and the heli adventures they offer each winter are perfect grounds for our backcountry and powder skis to perform and be demoed,” said K2 Vice President of Global Marketing, Jeff Mechura. “We look forward to many years of happy skiers enjoying Alaska’s best on K2 equipment.”
