Safe Passions: Remembering Andreas Fransson

Next Up

One of my favorite artists; Sandra Fransson fuses mixed-media with her love of the mountains. With winter months looming over us, her art stands as a reminder to be safe and aware in the back country. Her decorated brother, Andreas Fransson passed away a year ago in an avalanche in South America.

In lieu of his passing, Sandra started a non-profit; 'Safe Passions', where people can purchase prints alongside some of her impressive originals, to benefit back-country safety awareness initiatives.

This is one of my favorite pieces by Sandra, it combines rock climbing, meditating and skinning up massifs. All of the things that rejuvenate my soul.

Take your Avalanche 1 course, be smart, stay safe.
