After a season-ending crash that happened last March during an X Games Europe training run in Tignes, France, Jen Hudak was left with a dislocated shoulder and an out-of-commission knee.
Now the halfpipe skier is on the road to recovery. With an eye on the future, Hudak hopes that road will lead to the 2014 Olympics.
This video, the first in a series, recaps the five-time X Games medalist's season as she travels from Utah to Colorado, then on to Japan and France.
"We captured my daily life in Utah from the U.S Ski Team gym, to Park City’s incredible pipe and into the infamous Utah sidecountry — enjoying my last few days of freeskiing before jumping into the high-pressure contest circuit," Hudak says on her Vimeo page.
The candid video offers a glimpse at Hudak's life and how she is overcoming from her injuries as an athlete.
Storyline aside, perhaps the best nugget of information in this Web clip is finding out that she grew up with a rope tow in her back yard in Vermont. That is so cool. No wonder she's such a strong skier.
