With his recent cork 540, Jay Rawe is redefining what was thought possible on a sit ski. The skier, based in Lake Tahoe, broke his back in a horrific base jumping accident in 2014. The resulting damage to his spine and nerves in his left leg made it impossible to do many of the things he loved: skydiving, snowboarding, and biking. Then in 2016 he discovered sit skiing and hasn’t looked back. Once he connected with fellow adaptive athlete Trevor Kennison, the two have been pushing each other to go big with tricks in the terrain park—and it shows.
