Wild Wild Wasatch Series Kicks Off With "Waiting For Champagne"

Next Up

Despite long periods of high pressure hanging over Utah, the Wasatch is one of the few mountain ranges in the lower 48 that's had consistent snowfall this year.

Croshane Media's Wild Wild Wasatch series documents how the snowpack developed this season--and the long wait for it to be deep (and stable) enough to enjoy bigger descents in the Wasatch.

In "Waiting For Champagne," a crew of Salt Lake City splitboarders take on challenging missions like climbing Mount Superior's south ridge to Suicide Chute, and, during days with unfavorable snowpack conditions, stick with lower-consequences objectives like Grizzly Gulch near Alta Ski Resort. Riders include veteran splitboard mountaineer Maxwell Jeffrey Morrill and up-and-comers Alex Gavic, Justin Latimear, Andrew Muse, and James Buehler.
