One of the the most anti-American countries in the world, Iran also contains peaks with steep, wide-open faces, pillow lines, generally untouched powder, and even 17 of its own ski areas.
UK-based All Conditions Media sent athletes Ewan Wallace, Hamish McKnight, and Adam Gendle to the mountains outside of Tehran. The group calls the project, Snowboarding the Axis of Evil: A Dialogue Amongst Civilizations, and it explores some genuinely great terrain and snow–a great surprise given the geographical and cultural ignorance we Americans generally carry into any conversation about Iran, which usually has to do with nuclear bombs.
