Welcome to Last Call. Dropping every Friday, this column serves as a wrap-up of our favorite stories and videos from the week—some old, some new, but all worthy of attention.
Bob Burnquist's “Dreamland”—A Backyard Progression
Bob Burnquist is a maniac. The legendary, thirty-six year old skater just released the first episode of “The Dreamland Series”, marking his first full part since 2010. Let's be honest, it's the most impressive megaramp skating we've ever witnessed. The edit as a whole is remarkable and worthy of a watch, but if you're tight on time, fast forward to 6:30 and be prepared to have your mind blown by the helicopter-megaramp session. AMAZING. Even Todd Jones, TGR's head honcho and veteran heli-master thinks this video is worthy of praise—upon watching it he said, “This is ridiculous.” We agree.
Original, beautiful, brilliant…the list goes on. Just press play and be prepared for a type of visual stimulation you have yet to experience.
Experiments in Speed
Reasons to watch this video: 1.) to see some incredible cinematography 2.) to experience the story of a dude simply trying to build a bike and ride it as fast as possible 3.) to see a big ass chain ring. It's easy to envision the idea for this unfolding over a few beers in a garage—and then quickly becoming an all-consuming passion.
