With a few taps on your iPhone or Android device, ski apps allow you to track a wealth of data on your alpine adventures. I describe my 8 favorite apps for skiing and snowboarding in this post:

In addition to tracking data from your runs, apps can provide a ton of useful information about the snow, weather, and the alpine environment. For example, the 3-D images of resorts from Fat Map are super helpful. Here's a screenshot of the Mary Jane Territory at Winter Park:
