It should come as no surprise to anyone that Sammy Luebke was at ease at this year's fantasy camp. The hard-charging snowboarder was raised in Alaska and cut his teeth riding mountains that would make most mere mortals run for lower gradients.
A fantasy camp rookie he proved he belonged, showcasing composure and big mountain spirit, finding lines and tricking off of massive features.
Sammy on riding in Alaska:
"It's hard sometimes, you get to a zone and it's hard to tell how big a cliff is. After the first couple of toe ins the confidence is there. It gets a lot easier. Some lines look so scary at first, then you get to the top and you're just psyched. You're psyched to ride the line that you are not scared of."
