JULY 20, 2015 – The days are already getting shorter, but that doesn't mean there's any shortage of rad stuff happening at bike parks across North America. Here's a look at some races, clinics, competitions and festivals going on at some of our favorite lift-served bike parks across North America. So, if you're still trying to figure out which direction to point 'er in the coming days, hopefully this list provides a bit of insight and inspiration.
RACES + COMPETITIONS
ANGEL FIRE BIKE PARK, NM | LOCAL DOWNHILL RACE | JULY 25
Angel Fire Bike Park’s local downhill mountain bike race is open to the public and we’re giving away $500 in prizes. It only costs $7 to enter so show us what you got! To participate, register at the ticket office and meet at the Summit at 4 p.m. to race. All categories are welcome including Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Men’s Pro, Women’s Pro, Junior Boys, and Junior Girls. EVOLUTION @ CRESTED BUTTE, CO | BIG MOUNTAIN ENDURO | JULY 31-AUG. 2
Crested Butte will host the only U.S. stop of the Enduro World Series in 2015. The three day event will blend high altitude backcountry adventures mixed with some of the biggest descents in the area. Expect a heavy pro field and the largest cash payout of any 2015 BME event. This special gem of a place tucked deep in the Rockies and surrounded by wilderness, holds the longest running bike festival in the country and is a true mountain town with more miles of singletrack than any other location in the U.S. Legend has it, that Crested Butte is the birthplace of mountain biking and we are going to take you back to the roots of riding big mountains at high elevations around Crested Butte. Riders will be challenged with three days of racing, with big climbing transitions that will take you to high alpine passes overlooking majestic peaks. Click here to read more.
SNOWSHOE BIKE PARK, WV | WILD HARE PRO GRT | JULY 23 - 26
Snowshoe Mountain welcomes USA Cycling and the PRO GRAVITY TOUR on July 23 - 26, 2015. Riders from all over the country will convene in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia to race on some of the steepest terrain the east coast has to offer. The Western territory has 1,500 vertical feet of decent and is serviced by a highspeed quad. The mountain features nearly 40 trails and has something to offer every bike enthusiast. STEAMBOAT BIKE PARK, CO | CAPTAIN OF THE BOAT RACE | JULY 16 + 30, AUGUST 13 + 27
Steamboat Bike Park is proud to host the Captain of the Boat gravity race series, a bi-weekly event that will provide competitive gravity opportunities to riders of a broad ability level. With the focus on fun and camaraderie, experienced racers can test their skills against the best in the boat and new racers can enjoy a relaxed introduction to the competitive side of mountain biking. BIKE GRANBY RANCH, CO | GEARS & BEERS | JULY 26
Bike Granby Ranch is hosting a fun, family-friendly Gears and Beers enduro series.
Session 1: Uphill climb followed by a downhill trail
Session 2: Cross-country ride gets longer each day (maximum 10 miles)
Session 3: Downhill ride with lift access
Registration: $39 per race, $149 for three
Includes entry fee, lift ticket for day of the event, one burger, and one beer.

SUGARLOAF BIKE PARK, NB | ADRENALINE BIKE FESTIVAL | JULY 24 - 26
Calling all mountain bikers! Head to Sugarloaf Bike Park for 3 days of non-stop fun at the Adrenaline Bike Festival. The festival program includes the World Championship Pond Crossing, Downhill Race, Pump Track Challenge and Slopestyle Competition. The Family Fun Ride and Kids’ Cross Country Race are great ways for little riders to get in on the fun, too! On-site exhibitors will display bikes and accessories from various manufacturers. Take the opportunity to try out one of the brand-new mountain bikes on display during Mountain Bike Demo Day. BLUE MOUNTAIN, ONT | KING OF THE VALLEY DOWNHILL SERIES | JULY 25-26, SEPT. 12-13
The team at Blue Mountain Resort is excited to announce that it will be hosting a three-part downhill mountain bike race series this summer in partnership with the Ontario Cycling Association. Each race will be a sanctioned OCA points race, allowing riders to accumulate provincial points toward their overall standings.
The King of the Mountain Race series will be made up of three races taking place over the following weekends:
East Coast Open Mountain Bike Festival and Downhill Race
June 26-18, 2015
King of the Valley Ontario Cup Downhill Race
July 25-26, 2015
Fall Showdown Ontario Cup Downhill Race
September 12-13, 2015

TRESTLE BIKE PARK, CO | COLORADO FREERIDE FESTIVAL | JULY 23 - 26
Welcome to the Colorado Freeride Festival at Trestle Bike Park in Winter Park, Colorado. The largest freeride festival in the United States runs July 23-26 and will feature the best mountain bikers in the world battling it out for over $45,000 in prize money. The festival is free for spectators and will showcase athletes in Slopestyle, Enduro, Air Downhill, Cross Country and wild Pond Crossing. Plus, free family activities, product demos with some of the biggest names in mountain biking and action sports, meet and greets with the athletes, and more in the Festivillage. GRAND TARGHEE BIKE PARK, WY | WOMEN'S MTB CAMP W/ AMANDA CAREY | JULY 25 -26
These camps at Grand Targhee Bike Park are designed for female riders with some mountain biking experience. Fundamental skills such as cornering, vision, body position, clearing small obstacles and braking will be covered and will benefit everyone from experienced beginners to more advanced intermediates. Instruction will take place on intermediate (blue) cross-country trails and in a designated skills practice area and is always catered to individual skill levels. BLUE MOUNTAIN, ON | WOMEN'S DOWNHILL SERIES | JULY 23 - AUG 16
Ladies! Our Women's Downhill Series presented by Sacred Rides and Oakley is back for another season. Four weeks of lessons start Thursday, July 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. and we're also offering a new drop-in option for this year if you can't commit to all four weeks. SILVER MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK, ID | DIRTY LADIES DAYS | JULY 24, AUG. 8, AUG. 14, AUG. 28, SEP. 5
Join us for a Dirty Lady Day every Friday in July and August and Saturdays in September at Silver Mountain Bike Park! Meet in the village and then head up the hill for a casual group ride and a chance to meet and ride with a bunch of like minded ladies. There is no charge to participate and although there will be no official instruction, this is a great way to pick up a few tips and meet other riders in our area. Kids are never too young to hit the trails and Highland Mountain Bike Park is dedicated to helping them get the hang of it in this custom designed program catering to the littlest of shredders. Click here for more info.
Ages 6-9 Half Day Session (9am-12pm) Camp Cost: $59
This Kids Camp program is a non-lift access, 3-hour camp providing instruction on core skills essential to enjoying a lifetime of progressive riding. The camp utilizes our skills areas, berms, pump track, and an obstacle course to develop proper braking, cornering, balancing, descending, climbing, and lifting up and over techniques.
Ages 10-14 Full Day Session (9am-3pm) Camp Cost: $115
This Kids Camp program is a 6-hour session focusing on core skills in our rider development area, pump track, berms, and introduces participants to lift access mountain biking. Practical application of proper braking, cornering, balancing, descending, and lifting up and over obstacles takes place on our beginner terrain, where attention to safety and rider etiquette are paramount.
KEYSTONE BIKE PARK, CO | STRIDER BIKE SERIES | JULY 26
A race designed just for the little ones and located just outside the Keystone Bike Park. Come out to the Keystone Resort's River Run Village and enter your kids in the only Summit County Strider Balance Bike Race Series. Entry is FREE.
